When stressors or setbacks are wearing you down, boost your wellbeing and reclaim your zest for life.

Wellbeing coaching to help you thrive in challenging times...

We are living in difficult times. If current global issues aren't enough to leave us jibbering,  professional or personal stressors or setbacks can severely test us - wearing us down and draining our coping resources.

Over time, this can seriously affect our happiness and sense of well-being, and instead of living a life that brings us joy, we may find ourselves simply languishing - feeling empty, de-motivated and flat.

While this impacts our emotional health and makes it difficult for us to move forward, it can also take its toll on relationships with family and friends and may also reduce our effectiveness at work or home.

If left unchecked, it may also increase our risk of developing a mental health disorder - something that should be avoided at all costs.

Therefore, Cothan's mission is to help you reclaim your zest for life in challenging times - enabling you, through professional and accredited coaching, to:

  • Boost your well-being - enabling you to find simple but effective strategies that enable you to thrive, regardless of what's currently going on in your life.

  • Challenge beliefs or behaviours that undermine your well-being – replacing them with new, more helpful strategies and ways of thinking that support your mental health and help you move forward well.

  • Strengthen your coping resources - supercharging your resilience and enabling you to navigate life's challenges in ways that don't drag you down.

  • Reconnect to things that give you joy and meaning – so you can use these to light your way in darker times.

Wellbeing Coaching

What can you expect from wellbeing coaching?

Wellbeing coaching may seem daunting and you may have no idea what to expect...

However, it is simply a series of one-to-one tailored-to-you conversations which enable you to unpick and process what is going on in your life on your terms - whilst also helping you find powerful resources to tackle it effectively.

First, we start by untangling the challenges you face - so we can see them more clearly and understand the best ways to approach them.

We then develop a plan of action - using proven, evidence-based tools and strategies to help boost your wellbeing and enable you to cope like a pro in challenging times.

Not sure whether wellbeing coaching is right for you?

In case you still have questions, wellbeing coaching is:

  • About moving forward - instead of dwelling in the past, wellbeing coaching focuses on where you are now and where you'd like to be. Although past events may be explored, we will only do so if they still impact your wellbeing and stop you from living your life to the full.

  • Directed by you - you won't be told what to do, prescribed advice or pushed in any particular direction. Instead, we work together to find powerful strategies and solutions that are right for you - and that enable you to move past life's challenges in positive ways.

  • Not about 'fixing' you or your situation - instead, wellbeing coaching helps you boost your own strengths and coping resources so that you can apply these effectively to negotiate challenges or stressors well - both now and in the future.

  • Not just about talking - whilst it gives you a safe, non-judgmental space to process and unpick the challenges you face, it is also about taking positive action so you can move forward and live your life on your terms.

  • Not the same as counselling or therapy - whilst it can support your psychological wellbeing and help you to manage stressors in ways that serve you, it does not offer treatment for mental health disorders. Therefore, if you are experiencing severe or ongoing depression or anxiety or have recently experienced traumatic events, it is important that you initially seek support from your G.P. or a counselling professional.

I am a member of the British Psychological Society's Division of Coaching Psychology and am accredited as a coaching practitioner by the European Coaching and Mentoring Council.

I have worked with young people and adults since 2017 and am currently a wellbeing coach for Project5 - a not-for-profit organisation supporting the wellbeing and resilience of NHS staff in these challenging times (you can read what other lovely people say about me here).

I have also successfully overcome significant challenges in my life and know from first-hand experience the toll these can take on our mental health and quality of life. As such, my aim is to help you boost your wellbeing and reclaim your zest for life in stressful times so you can move forward and thrive.
