Hello, I'm Kerry Scott-Gillett...
Having overcome significant challenges in my own life, I know from first-hand experience that we all have the capacity to be more resourceful, resilient and capable than we ever think possible.
However, in demanding times, I also know that it's not always easy to see this for ourselves and instead, we can be left feeling stressed out, worn down and stuck in our situation, uncertain about where to go next.
While this can adversely affect our immediate happiness and sense of well-being, it can also take its toll on our personal or professional lives, as well as our close relationships. If left unchecked, it can even put us at risk of developing a mental health disorder - something that should be avoided wherever possible.

I therefore started Cothan to help you successfully navigate challenging times - enabling you to find calm, reclaim control and move forward on your terms. You'll also gain a toolkit of strategies to boost your coping skills, self-confidence and resilience - enabling you to live better, regardless of what's going on.
And when you use Cothan's services, you'll also be making a positive difference by helping to fund free mentoring sessions for disadvantaged or vulnerable young people - something that is very much needed in todays challenging climate (to find out more, please click here).
About me
I have a first-class honours degree in Social Psychology and am a professionally trained coach and mentor, having studied at the University of Warwick. I am also accredited at Practitioner level by the European Coaching and Mentoring Council and am a member of the British Psychological Society's Division of Coaching Psychology.
I have worked with both young people and adults since 2017, and since 2020 have been a coaching practitioner for project5 - a not-for-profit organisation supporting the wellbeing and resilience of NHS staff through the challenges presented by Covid-19 and beyond. In 2019 I also qualified as a mindfulness teacher, and now offer mindfulness skills training to help you find some space and calm in your life when things feel overwhelming.

Outside of my professional life, I am a mum and step-mum, and owner to Ruby - a slightly ageing (but in denial) Border Collie. In my very limited spare time, I can often be found stomping around (usually in mud) somewhere near the beautiful Malvern Hills where we live. I am also a bit of a psychology geek, as my long-suffering family will tell you!
